I read this book in one day. It was easy to read and I could relate on many levels. Although I haven't had the same circumstances happen to me in my life, I have had "issues" that were beyond my control and sometimes in my control - sometimes I have handled them well; other times, I could have used some serious vision for life. We all have issues. We will all have issues. Dr Sandras' real-talk about dealing with his own life's issues, in communicating friend's experiences, and knowing that it was fresh made this book even more impactful. It imparts vision that will help all of us finish strong!I will admit that when I read it, I enjoyed the read - it had some real impact. It was a good, easy, entertaining, thought provoking book that I would recommend to others. Now that some time has passed, there are even more thoughts that have surfaced and the impact is even greater. It was just a book that I read and forgot. I read this book, and it is continuing to impact my life. I suspect that as time goes on, I will reread sections to further "chew on" the thoughts. I will now not just recommend When the Sky is Falling, but suggest it to all I know as well.

Eric writes a very personal book about his life and experiences, good and not so good. He is a terrific person and a very caring person. He is a man of God and his lessons were always very visual and entertaining. He was a pastor at the church that I attend and was loved by everyone there. Eric writes straight from the heart and his books are very riveting. You will enjoy every minute of this book.
In this quick read, Dr. Sandras transparently exposes himself and his life's trials to the reader. The reader not only identifies with his profound experiences, but succumbs to his viral faith and spiritual hope, which fosters optimism within the reader and establishes a clear feeling of anticipation for life and a new day. Whatever you are currently, or have battled in your life (be it health or everyday hindrances) this book will encourage and embolden your path forward.
I just finished Eric's book "When the Sky is Falling" this is such a great book! so encouraging! I found myself laughing on one page and crying on the next. It felt like Eric was right there in the room with me... telling his story or that of someone who's path had merged with theirs. But I have to confess, Eric and his family are friends of mine, our lives came together just before all this hard stuff began for them. It was heartbreaking (for so many of us who knew and loved them) to watch such a wonderful family go from one hardship to another and another... yet through it all they remained full of faith and a blessing to so many who had the privilege to get to know them.
Three things come to mind-
1) The byproduct of a bad economy, loss of job, home, health or a love one can produce a disillusionment that can send our hope circling the drain. We have to remember that this is not God's economy, it is one of a fallen world. Eric mentions the word disillusionment throughout his book, and I'd rather be in a place of disillusionment than to live a life of illusion. In one of Oswald Chambers teachings he says "Disillusionment means having no more misconceptions, false impressions, and false judgments in life; it means being free from these deceptions..." ([...])
2) In Psalm-139 King David says "You have searched me, LORD, and you know me. You know when I sit and when I rise; you perceive my thoughts from afar. You discern my going out and my lying down; you are familiar with all my ways." David goes on to say that no matter where he goes God is there! And God is there for us too, to guide and comfort us through all of life's hardships and gives us hope for the "Suddenly".
3) The song "Beautiful Things" by Gungor
All this pain I wonder if I'll ever find my way?

Thank You for writing this book to remind everyone that there is Hope.We all have things we deal with in life some big some small but we never know what our brother or sister is dealing with personally unless you are close enough to be informed.I knew some things about the author but never had any idea he had gone through so many hardships.I am glad to see the Lord is at work to help us everyday if we realize it or not.Hope is that thing that can keep us going I feel without Hope we have nothing to look forward to.I believe this ray of light was shown in this book
This was my third Eric Sandras book. I doubt if me and Sandras have anything in common beside a strong belief in Christ, but that's OK. He is an excellent writer, and has a way of explaining the truth that really connects. Nothing flashy here, just an honest testimony of someone willing to become part of God's story.
It always amazes me how God can use other people to encourage and uplift me when I am in the "pit of despair." Not that I often find myself depressed and overwhelmed... But I read Eric Sandras' book When The Sky Is Falling exactly when I needed it. My faith in God's concern for my life has been renewed, my peace is restored, and my anger at my situation is now deflating like a limp balloon. Many thanks to Eric for his transparency about the crises in his own life and for the awesome quotes from many wonderful Christian authors/evangelists. All of this added up to a very compelling read - I couldn't put my down! I highly recommend this book to anyone who is going through a lengthy "trial" in their life or like myself, if you have been on a very slow descent into apathy and melancholy. Thank you again Eric, for waking me up.
